Description
This tool should take a map and a kernel as input and apply a smoothing to the input map. An option should be added for residual (or significance) maps, in order to correctly scale the smoothed map to a normal distribution.
The output might be another fits file containing the smoothed map.
Ideally, the smoothing kernel should take into account the PSF of the instrument and its energy dependence. This might be useful for example to adaptively smoothing a binned count map.
