Description
The current implementation of the response cache uses too much memory, see #3305. The current response cache is efficient for unbinned data, and it will be much more efficient once the caching is limited to relevant values (see #3312). In the meantime we be switch the caching off.

Since an alternative to disabling the response cache was found (#3316) I reject this issue now.
