Dear Jurgen,
it is not really clear at the moment, if it is possible to account for energy dispersion for Fermi/LAT with ctools.
From the manual it seems that the energy dispersion cube is required by ctlike to handle energy dispersion, but there is no obvious way to produce such a cube for Fermi/LAT.
If this indeed is not implemented yet, it would be great to have such an option at some point.

Energy for Fermi/LAT is not implemented since it is irrelevant for basically all cases.

It can be important for a sharp features, like determination of a strong cut-off position or a presence of line-like features in the data.
The implementation of energy dispersion in ctools can allow to cross-check fermi-tools results in any of those cases.
I agree, that they are not very common...
